Bowls chief is thoroughly a Hedge End man
7:20am Thursday 9th February 2012

SOUTHAMPTON and District BA’s new president Brian Bartlett is a Hedge End man through and through.
Born in Hedge End he has lived most of his life there, played cricket for them, has been a member of the bowls club for 20 years – and is now proud to become their first S&D president.
He took over the post from Littleton’s Roger Parsons during the association annual meeting at Atherley and will wear the chain of office for the next 12 months.
Although he describes himself as “an average club bowler who enjoys the game” he is considerably above average when it comes to his contribution as an administrator within the sport at three different levels: club, district and county.
